A wife, mother, former small business owner, active Democrat and long time Indianapolis resident, Kate Sweeney Bell is running for Marion County Recorder.
A graduate of Chatard High School and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Kate has more than 20 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors. She served in the offices of Governors Evan Bayh and Frank O’Bannon, worked in the executive office at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, operated a small business for more than 10 years and has been on the staffs of a number of political and issue advocacy campaigns. Kate is currently the financial supervisor for Washington Township Small Claims Court, where she has helped streamline office operations and improve customer service.
As Marion County Recorder, Kate will use her diverse experiences to further improve upon the office’s efficiency, with the goal of making data as easily accessible to the public as possible.
Kate lives in the historic Herron-Morton neighborhood with her husband Jason Bell and their two children, Vivian and Sam.
